Dune: The Sisterhood adds Obi-Wan's Indira Varma

Indira Varma (Game of Thrones, Obi-Wan Kenobi) has been added to the cast of HBO's prequel series, Dune: The Sisterhood.

Indiria Varma – most recently seen as Tala Durith in Obi-Wan Kenobi – will play Empress Natalya, described as "a formidable royal who united thousands of worlds in her marriage to Emperor Corrino."

The show, which is based on Brian Herbert and Kevin J. Anderson's 2012 novel Sisterhood of Dune, also stars Emily Watson (Chernobyl) and Shirley Henderson (Okja) as Bene Gesserit founders Valya and Tula Harkonnen.

The Haunting of Bly Manor executive producer Diane Ademu-John is serving as showrunner with Westworld and Altered Carbon‘s Alison Schapker – so they know their way around adapting a sci-fi book. Chernobyl’s Johan Renck will direct the pilot episode.
