Amazon Announces Free Stargate Channel

23 new channels are coming to Amazon Freevee, including two dedicated exclusively to Stargate and The Outer Limits.

According to Deadline, Amazon Freevee is set to roll out 23 new Roku-style FAST (free ad-supported streaming television) channels.

12 of the channels will be drawn from the MGM vault, including single-show channels based around Stargate and The Outer Limits, and MGM Presents: Sci-Fi that will contain a mixture of MGM TV shows and movies. The other 11 channels will be in partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery.

“FAST Channels offer Freevee viewers an always-on, 24/7, lean-back viewing experience that immediately connects them to a selection of TV shows, movies, and unscripted programming such as news, sports, and music,” said Ryan Pirozzi, head of Amazon Freevee.

“MGM and Warner Bros. Discovery create content that appeals to a diverse fan base—action, comedy, drama, scripted, unscripted, and more. We are incredibly excited Freevee customers will have even more choice when it comes to what they can watch, whenever and however they choose.”

It may be a reach, but perhaps this is a sign that Amazon is testing the potential audience for their new show...

Amazon Freevee is currently available in the US, the UK, Germany, and Austria, but there’s no confirmation yet as to which territories will receive the new channels.
