Gaters Gonna Rate with Joseph Mallozzi, the eagerly-anticipated first podcast from The Companion, is here. Get those earbuds in and get listening.

We asked you, the Stargate community, to vote on your favorite hand-to-hand fight scenes in the show’s long history and you didn’t let us down. In fact, you reminded us why the Stargate fandom is one of the most passionate and diehard out there, and we’re so excited to give your opinions the platform they deserve.

In this first episode, Joseph Mallozzi and his Companion co-host George Mole count down the top five, with plenty of banter, debate and first-hand insights from the Dark Matter showrunner and fan-favorite Stargate writer/producer. Joseph and George then bring in a very special guest, Stargate Atlantis stunt co-ordinator James ‘Bam Bam’ Bamford to share his memories on three of the five bloodiest brawls this side of the Pegasus Galaxy.

Bamford, who went on to serve as fight co-ordinator and then director on Arrow, before going on to work on Supergirl, Batwoman, Superman & Lois Lane, and now his debut feature film, drops some behind-the-scenes secrets on Jason Momoa’s fighting style, unlocking Rachel Luttrell’s killer instinct, and who would really win the Ronon Dex vs Teal’c faceoff that paralysed message boards for over a decade.

As a member of The Companion, you’re supporting original writing and podcasting, for sci-fi fans, by sci-fi fans, and totally free of advertising and clickbait.

The cost of your membership has allowed us to mentor new writers and allowed us to reflect the diversity of voices within fandom. None of this is possible without you. Thank you. 🙂
