The Orville Season 4: Chad Coleman is Hopeful

Chad Coleman is confident that fan-power could do for The Orville Season 4 what it did for The Expanse.

The uncertain fate of The Orville following its move to Hulu and the eventual long-delayed third season, The Orville: New Horizons, has fans hungry for even the most meager morsel of hope.

Speaking to Bleeding Cool, Chad Coleman – who plays Klyden, the spouse to Moclan crew member Lieutenant Commander Bortus (Peter Macon), on the show – sounded an optimistic note, comparing The Orville’s following to that of his AMC alma mata, The Walking Dead:

“We want everybody else to generate to that level, and that's why I tell people all the time for The Orville, ‘How about you guys? You put a campaign together to get somebody to fly a plane around and say: ‘Renew it.’
“How about we do a social media push where millions of people let them know? That’s the thing we’re looking for because it happened with The Expanse when it was tangible and on Syfy. That's how it got picked up on Prime [Video] because of movements like that.”

Despite a slow start as it felt out its blend of comedy and drama to emerge as more than the sum of its Star Trek-referencing parts, The Orville has become a cult hit with New Horizons scoring a neat 100% from critics on Rotten Tomatoes.
