Christopher Judge Has a Message for Stargate Fans

Join us for Christopher Judge: Elevating African American Voices in Science Fiction, a panel discussion on everything from Stargate SG-1 to Black Panther.

As you’ve undoubtedly already seen from last week’s Companion Update, we’re thrilled to announce that, on December 10th, Christopher Judge will lead a discussion with a multi-generational panel of African American actors and storytellers here on The Companion.

Judge and his guests will discuss the new wave of stories being told in TV, film, comics, games, and movies, how the fight for representation became a creative revolution, and what the future holds.

As a member, you’ll be able to watch the full panel video right here on The Companion.

Put on a tie, get some snacks, and we’ll make an event of it!

A bonafide geek icon, Judge joined the core cast of Stargate SG-1 in 1997 as the Jaffa freedom fighter Teal’c, going on to appear in 211 episodes of SG-1, two episodes of Stargate Atlantis, and the movies Stargate: The Ark of Truth (2008), and Stargate: Continuum (2008). He also wrote five episodes of the show: ‘The Warrior’ (S5, Ep11), ‘The Changeling’ (S6, Ep19), ‘Birthright’ (S7, Ep10), and ‘Sacrifices’ (S8, Ep9).

More recently, Judge has won the devotion of an entire new fandom, voicing and motion capturing Kratos in the video games God of War (2018) and God of War Ragnarök, and voicing Black Panther in the War for Wakanda expansion for Marvel’s Avengers (2020).

As a member of The Companion, you’re supporting original writing and podcasting, for sci-fi fans, by sci-fi fans, and totally free of advertising and clickbait.

The cost of your membership has allowed us to mentor new writers and allowed us to reflect the diversity of voices within fandom. None of this is possible without you. Thank you. 🙂
