Bruce Timm Batman Cartoon Axed by Warner Bros

WB continues to wield the scythe, canceling Bruce Timm series Batman: Caped Crusader, and Christmas cartoon Merry Little Batman.

Two new animated Bat shows have been felled as part of Warner Bros.’ recent decision to focus on theatrical.

The most high profile of the two, Batman: Caped Crusader, had a full series order from HBO Max and Cartoon Network. Created by Batman: The Animated Series icon Burce Timm, The Batman director Matt Reeves, and J.J. Abrams, Batman: Caped Crusade was pitched as a noir-like return to the roots of the character, exploring Batman’s early cases.

Merry Little Batman is a Home Alone-style series following an infant Bruce Wayne protecting Wayne Manor over the holiday season.

Reportedly Apple TV+, Hulu, and Netflix are all in contention to pick up Batman: Caped Crusade.
