Battlestar Galactica-Inspired Craft Beers are Back

UK brewery Brew York unveils Dradis barrel-aged duo of Imperial Stouts in tribute to “the greatest of all sci-fi shows.”

A firm favorite in these parts, Brew York is best known for excellent puns with a range of craft beer that includes such gems as Goose Willis, Rhubarbara Streisand, and The Floor is Guava. When it comes to Battlestar Galactica, they play it straight, describing Dradis as “our tribute to the greatest of all sci-fi shows.”

The two new beers are barrel-aged variants on the original Dradis, which can still be found in multipack form at select retailers.

BA Dradis Rye Whiskey Imperial Stout (12.0%) can be ordered for GBP£5.70.

This iteration was barrel aged in rye whiskey barrels to impart rich molasses, spices, and warming notes to the base Imperial Stout that also emphasizes its roasted, smokey, and licorice characters.

BA Dradis Buffalo Trace Imperial Stout (12.0%) can be ordered for GBP£5.70.

This iteration was barrel aged in Buffalo Trace bourbon whiskey barrels to add a honeyed richness to the base imperial stout that lifts the dried fruit characters, adding silky hints of vanilla and a welcome caramelised sugar bitterness.

We know Starbuck liked a tipple, would she approve? Frak, yes.
