Stargate Exec Martin Gero Steps In As Quantum Leap Showrunner

Stargate Atlantis executive producer Martin Gero is replacing  Steven Lilien and Bryan Wynbrandt as showrunner on NBC’s new Quantum Leap.

Co-creators, Lilien and Wynbrandt, will remain on the series as executive producers, joined by incoming Dean Geogaris who wrote the 2018 Jason Statham vehicle The Meg.

Gero, who has writer and producer credits on Stargate SG-1, Atlantis, and Universe, is most heavily associated with SGA – writing 26 episodes of the series in total. He also served as consulting producer on Joseph Mallozzi and Paul Mullie’s Dark Matter.

Three episodes of Quantum Leap have already been shot, although the original pilot won’t be airing as Episode 1 when the show debuts on September 19th on NBC. Instead, the third episode filmed is expected to take that slot.
