Week in Geek is The Companion‘s weekly digest of all the latest trailers, announcements, controversies, spicy memes, and more. Not everyone has the time or inclination to sit on social media all day staying on top of this… but we do and we need to justify the time we’ve wasted.

What We’re Talking About
Big ol’ Marvel drop, not only do we get a new poster for Shang Chi, but the first two pics from the Hawkeye series have arrived too – coming November 24 on Disney+. It’s not all good news though…
#Hawkeye never misses 🏹 so don’t miss @JeremyRenner and @HaileeSteinfeld in this @EW exclusive first-look of Marvel Studios’ Hawkeye. The Original Series starts streaming Wednesday, November 24 on @DisneyPlus. pic.twitter.com/8DnB18oSIk

Scarlett Johansson is burning some bridges on her way out of the MCU by suing Disney for releasing Black Window in cinemas and on streaming platforms simultaneously. She claims it was a breach of contract, as her $$$ was linked to the movie’s box office $$$.
Just as we started to get excited about Doctor Who Series 13, star Jodie Whittaker and showrunner Chris Chibnall announced it would be their last. The duo plan to bow out following a series of three two-part specials in 2022
Sweet Tooth, based on the critically acclaimed DC Vertigo comic by writer/illustrator Jeff Lemire, has been given a second season on Netflix. Give it a chance or you’ll antler to me. (That joke doesn’t work if you don’t know that the main character is a deer boy, leave me alone.)
What We’re Watching

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad opened this weekend and IT IS SO GOOD. Expect us to discuss it in detail on our Briefing podcast this week…

Not obviously sci-fi (although it does depict the undead as medically manageable), terrifying vampire vs highjackers thriller Blood Red Sky premiered on Netflix. Just call it Stakes on a Plane.
