Week in Geek | Doctor Who Series 13 First Footage

Week in Geek is The Companion‘s weekly digest of all the latest trailers, announcements, controversies, spicy memes, and more. Not everyone has the time or inclination to sit on social media all day staying on top of this… but we do and we need to justify the time we’ve wasted.

If you’d like Week in Geek poured piping hot into your inbox every Monday, sign up here.

What We’re Talking About

Appearing at GalaxyCon earlier this month, Stargate alumni Amanda Tapping, Michael Shanks, and Ben Browder chatted about our AI project and the forthcoming reunion performance with Brad Wright.

Torchwood‘s John Barrowman, seemingly allergic to making good decisions, took to Twitter to repeatedly tell M. Night Shyamalan (and Universal Pictures) that his new movie, Old, is “utter s–t.” Be quiet now, John.

Not only has Star Trek: Lower Decks revealed some familiar half-faces are popping in for Season 2, but Season 3 has already been confirmed.

We may have a bit of a wait for The Mandolorian to return, but a new art poster for San Diego Comic Con@Home shows Grogu and Luke building a lightsaber.

What We’re Watching

She’s back, and it’s about time! Doctor Who Series 13 promises a single ongoing story and the first teaser trailer gives us a glimpse of the new companion, a new recurring character, and the ominously titled Swarm.

The first trailer for the new animated series Star Trek: Prodigy is so beautiful I could cry. The environments are Clone Wars-level and the voice of Janeway? C H I L L S.
