Or perhaps it’s more of an interactive story, it’s certainly wordy enough. Absolutely not endorsed in any which way by MGM, Escape from the Hive is a homage to classic gamebook adventures of the 80s, only without the character sheet (but let me know if you’d be up for that!).
In this nerve-shredding survival horror narrative, you play the role of an amnesiac member of the Pegasus Expedition who awakens to find himself in the galaxy’s least desirable dining spot – the cocoon of a Wraith Hive Ship.
You must survive the ship’s surviving crew member and find some manner of escape – there are two possible routes off the ship and plenty of ways to die, but even the literal dead ends contain some secrets about the setting and possible future storylines in your very own season of Stargate. Give it a try – and put on some suitably creepy music while you do. (I heartily recommend Colin Stetson’s score for Color Out of Space for those eerie Lovecraftian vibes that the organic-space-vampire-biotech of the Wraith embodies.)
I’d love to do more of these, but the real question is… is this something you guys want to see? And if so, what sort of challenges would you like to see our mysterious protagonist overcome? Let me know in the comments 👇
