Sets and Special Effects: Behind the Scenes Video From the 4K Blu-ray | Total Recall

With Total Recall turning 30 years old this year and getting a gorgeous new 4K Blu-ray release, we’ve partnered with Studiocanal UK to curate a special mini-season of exclusive content devoted to the first great sci-fi blockbuster of the 1990s.

This, the final exclusive for our absolute feast of original content is one of the Blu-ray extras and it compliments our incredible interview with the Academy Award-winning CGI pioneer Tim McGovern by covering the makeup, puppetry, miniatures, and special effects that made Paul Verhoeven’s movie such a visual feast.

Even under the scrutiny of 4K, Total Recall still looks incredible and Tim pops up around the 6:10 mark talking about the technological challenges and near-catastrophe of that spectacular X-ray action sequence.

Way back when The Companion was just an alien acorn cradled in a child’s little green hand many of you guys asked for videos. With more of you buying your movies and shows digitally or catching up with them on streaming services, you lamented the loss of the ‘extras’, particularly behind the scenes and making-of featurettes.

We listened and we’re working hard to bring you more exclusives from our studio partners so keep checking back. This is just the beginning 🙂
