The Martians and Mutants Sci-Fi Quiz | Geek Challenge

With Total Recall turning 30 years old this year and getting a gorgeous new 4K Blu-ray release, we’ve partnered with Studiocanal UK to curate a special mini-season of exclusive content devoted to the first great sci-fi blockbuster of the 1990s. Although clearly inspired by Mars-based final third of Paul Verhoeven’s blockbuster brain-baffler, these ten curious conundrums feature other films and TV series united by the theme of Martians and Mutants.

What are you waiting for? Get your ass to Mars!

If this is your first visit to The Companion, welcome! Our members get answers to the quizzes, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg. If you love Total Recall, Mars Attacks!, Star Trek and science fiction, join us for a Free Trial.

Our articles, interviews, quizzes, and livestream hangouts are produced by some of the smartest writers from the showrunners themselves to excellent new writers from deep within the fandom. They all truly live and breath their favorite sci-fi shows and movies, from Stargate co-creator Brad Wright to Tessa B. Dick, wife of the late Philip K. Dick. Those same people who just took your brain to breaking point also produce behind the scenes long reads, interviews and original analysis that proves every bit as rewarding.

Editor’s note:

When we launched The Companion, one of the first things you guys told us was that you wanted quizzes and you wanted trivia. Well, we listened. This is still a work in progress, we’re still testing the tech and we need you to keep telling us what you want. So far you’ve asked for a device to reveal which answers you got wrong and you’d also like a league table to burnish your geek cred. Those are at the top of our list, but for now, find those answers below for a quick fix. See you in the comments.
